Signature Series: Anti-Aging Actives

Vitamin C: Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate:
This is a stable form of Vitamin C and is the most effective type of Vitamin C for use in skin care formulations due to the fact that it remains stable in an aqueous environment. This form has been found to have definite skin lightening abilities and can help to increase collagen. Vitamin C acts as an anti-oxidant for skin repair, it helps to relieve dryness, and improves overall radiance.

Used in our: Hydra-Oxi Gel Mask, Seaweed Multi-Active Body Butter, and Glacial & Vita C Mist.

Vitamin E: D-Alpha Tocopherol:
This is the pure form of Vitamin E derived from soybean oil. It has been shown to help prevent cell damage, reduce inflammation, heal the skin from scars, soothes irritated skin, and replenishes dry skin.

The most commonly used from of vitamin E in cosmetic products is Alpha Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E combined with Acetate) which when used on the skin can eventually cause it to become even more dry and irritated.

Note: Many products contain a synthetic form of Vitamin E so check into which form the product contains before purchasing

Used in our: Seaweed Multi-Active Body Butter

Vitamin A: Retinyl Palmitate:
Shown to visibly improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Offers Anti-oxidant benefits to protect and repair the skin, helps to improve skin’s elasticity.

Used in Our: Seaweed Multi-Active Body Butter

Papaya Enzyme: A natural gentle exfoliant. Papaya contains a natural enzyme known as papain which has been shown to effectively and rapidly “dissolve” dead skin cells and surface layer bacteria. This in turn promotes cell rejuvenation and restores the skin’s natural balance.

Used in our: Hydra-Oxi Gel Mask

Hyaluronic Acid: Also known as Hyaluronan, is a natural substance found in the connective tissue and in the skin. When taken as an internal supplement or used as an active ingredient in skin care products, it works by bringing needed moisture into the skin. It has shown to help reduce fine lines, protect, detoxify and help tone the skin. As we age the skin’s levels of HA decreases due to exposure to sunrays, accumulation of iron and copper, and other factors, which have a direct impact on the skin’s ability to remain properly moisturized. If levels of HA drop the skin can easily become dry, dehydrated and can be more prone to wrinkles.

Therefore ingredients such as; hyaluronic acid can be very effective to replenish dry/dehydrated skin.

Used in our: Hydra-Oxi Gel Mask and Glacial Water & Vita C Mist.

Green Tea Extract: Green Tea is a natural anti-oxidant and it helps to protect the skin from damage caused by exposure to environmental factors that cause pre-mature aging. It also acts to soothe and calm the skin.

Used in our: Glacial Purifying Body Cleanser, Seaweed Mineral Firming Mask, Glacial Water & Vita C Mist, and Green Tea & Pacific Seaweed Salt Glow.

Grape seed Extract: Grapeseed has been found to contain proanthocyanidins, which are bioflavanoids and act to protect against the effects of free radicals.

These can help to maintain internal cell function and strengthen blood vessels. Pure grapeseed extract when applied topically has shown to improve the skin’s overall texture.

Used in our: Seaweed Multi-Active Body Butter and Hydra-Oxi Body Gel Mask.
